Panch Kedar

Panch kedar refers to five hindu temples dedicated ot god Shiva. They are located in Uttarakhand, The five temples designated in the strict pecking order to be followed for pilgrimage for worship.

Tungnath ----

This is the one of the highest Shiva temples in the world & highest of panch kedar. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old. The 5 Km trek starts from chopta. Of all the Panch Kedar trek routes, the route to Tungnath is the shortest: only 5 km.

Rudranath ----

This natural rock temple is situated in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand. It is said that this important Hindu shrine was built in 8th Century AD and is said to shelter the face of Lord Shiva. Most trekking routes to Rudranath are from Gopeshwar or nearby places. A motor able road is present up to the village Sagar 5 km from Gopeshwar, beyond which a 20 km trek has to be undergone to reach Rudranath.

Kedarnath ----

This temple is situated near the mandakini river. The name "Kedarnath" means "the lord of the field". Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April (Akshaya Tritriya) and November.

Kalpeshwar

This temple is situated Urgam valley of the Himalayan mountain range near Urgam village. Access to Kalpeshwar by road up to Urgam is from Rishikesh, a distance of 253 km on Rishikesh – Badrinath road. The best time to visit the temple is from April to September
